I've run checkdisk a few times, and it seems like it's identifying the same files each time, even though it says it's moving them from a bad sector to another one. There is also something about cross-linking on some of the files. I tried to defrag also, but that aborted at the first CRC error. And I tried a new USB cable I haven't tried unplugging the drive for a while.

It's usually kept unplugged until I need to use it, but I've had it plugged in for teh past 2 or 3 weeks, turning it off with the Power switch when I shut down my laptop. I have almost GB to copy over to the new drive. I'm aware I will have some data loss, but I'd like to rescue what I can.
