Can you daisy chain wifi repeaters


















Firstly, search for the subnet of your original router along with the IP address used to provide users access to other devices. If you are using a Windows device, click on the search bar given on your desktop.

The next step is about assigning the IP address to the new router. Make sure it is within the subnet you found in the first step. It is an important step as if you do not give the router a correct IP address, your network will not recognize the router as an extension.

You must make sure that your routers are under the same network mask of network. This confirmation is required as for the connectivity. Now use your Ethernet cable to Plug in the new router with the LAN port to establish the connection between both routers. This way you will be able to connect the old router with a new one as an extension. When you are using the WiFi extension for connecting the two different routers, your Wi-Fi can overlap on some channels which should be avoided.

So keep a check on your WiFi channels. Lock up your new router and make your connection secure. You can change the passwords of the network by adjusting it using the IP address of both the routers. Just type the IP address in the browser and you will give the options to change the password. Daisy-chaining the different routers together is a new way to connect them and extend the reach of the signal to as far as the place you want to spread the connection.

From the above-given information, you will be able to establish the extending connection very easily. Follow the process step by step for utilizing the WiFi connection completely. Daisy Chain routers are very efficient and better than any other option as other extenders can be really expensive.

In this sense, you are not really piggy backing or daisy chaining them, but simply adding multiple range extenders to the home network, placing them on opposite sides of the router. Consult the instructions manuals or online guides of your particular brand for more on this; Wi-Fi range extenders are usually very easy to set up and configure.

When set up this way, all extenders should be drawing the signal from the main router, and not really interacting with each other as such, but merely extending the wireless signal to the corner of the home where they are based. This can be an effective way of extending wireless coverage across a larger area of the home. Perhaps only using one range extender will only help to expand coverage on that side of the router.

Installing another one on the other side of the router can help spread better Wi-Fi to that part of the house, and so using multiple extenders in this way can be a good idea.

However, what if users actually want to try piggy backing or daisy chaining Wi-Fi range extenders on top of each other, to continue expanding Wi-Fi coverage in a specific direction.

In other words, installing one range extender, and then installing another one which feeds off the first extender, and so on. Is this possible? Whilst it is theoretically possible to daisy chain range extenders in this way, it is generally not recommended, as it is a pretty inefficient way of spreading Wi-Fi around a home and not guaranteed to be effective.

Firstly, range extenders work by far the best when they are amplifying the signal off the main house router only, and not piggy backing off other range extenders. I have one Base Cisco AP connected directly to one server, and I want to daisy-chain around 30 repeaters to cover a big building without wiring them , can I do that, or the rules applies here?
